Growing up my bedtime stories were of beautiful South Pacific Islands. My father was deployed there during WW ll and he painted these places as paradise on Earth. After seeing almost every island there myself, I moved onto Europe, Africa, South America, Australia, New Zealand and all over the Orient. I have been to almost all of the United States and most of Canada. My greatest pleasure is sailing the vast oceans of the world on the most luxurious cruise liners. I equally love the casual river cruises with stops in the small, quaint and charming towns that are treasures, often hidden from view! Adventures are truly gifts that happen unexpectantly and will never be forgotten. I was in Borneo in an orangutan rehabilitation center when suddenly a very large male primate came up behind me, took my hand, smiled broadly and proceeded to take me for a stroll. I have certainly learned to wrap my arms around every surprise that comes along and treasure the experience.

Favorite Destination islands have always held a special place in my heart, especially tropical and exotic ones. Australia continues to be special to me as well as the Orient and Malaysia. I recently visited Kotor, Montenegro and several areas of Poland. Both are now a part of my soul! Tierra Del Fuego in South America and all of the South Pacific will always be my very favorite destinations.
Best Travel Pro Tip Always carry a scarf with you when you travel. Put it around your shoulders if you feel a draft or drape it across your lap if you get cold. It will help keep germs away when you wrap it around your nose and mouth (when the person next to you starts coughing). Use it to cover up from the sun or upon entering a religious building. Scrunch it all up and it makes a great pillow too.
